In recognation of Earth Day, the City of Omaha is announcing the addition of new items that may be recycled.
Paper take out cups for hot and cold beverages are now accepted for recycling. Paper cups along with hard plastic take out cups may go in the recycling cart or drop-off container loose.
Place all plastic lids and straws either in an orange Hefty ReNew bag for recycling, or place in garbage. Styrofoam cups may also be recycled if placed in the ReNew bag, otherwise they must be placed in the garbage.
