UnderTheSink is the household hazardous waste facility for Douglas and Sarpy Counties.  It is owned and operated by the City of Omaha, for the benefit of the two counties.

 What Items Do They Accept?

Acceptable materials include diabetic syringes and lancets.  They must be prepared property by placing in a plastic bottle with a lid on. UnderTheSink also accepts nearly all unwanted household chemicals.  Things like paint, pool chemicals, cleaners, home maintenance products, car maintenance products, lawn and garden chemicals, rechargeable batteries, and sharps. UnderTheSink does not accept ammunition, flares, alkaline batteries, hearing aid batteries, fireworks, asbestos, medications, smoke detectors, tires, or radioactive materials.  This is not a complete list.
